Who are these crazy cats?

We are the Chu's. Well, Mike and Kathy Chu to be exact. We have been living in Taiwan since January 2004, about six months after we married in Lacombe, Alberta, Canada. They say the first year of marriage is the toughest. We thought the added challenge of living in a different culture would be a fun challenge to the adage.

Mike and Kathy are currently teaching English to the masses in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. With the population of 1.5million (about half the whole population of the province of Alberta, Canada where they are from), there is no shortage of English hungry students to supply us with work. We teach mostly elementary school children in private, after school programs called BuXiBan [boo-she-ban]. The Taiwanese love education and it is no wonder that most children are in some type of schooling from 7a.m. to 9p.m.
