Some of the poitives we enjoy:

  1. visiting at least one tropical country a year on our vacations. So far: Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Phillipines, Cambodia, Vietnam
  2. Paying small prices for things that normally suck us dry in Canada: car insurance - $300CAD/year; scooter insurance - $40CAD/year; apartment - $600CAD for three bedrooms; 32° average temperature and wearing shorts for every month except January - priceless.
  3. Convenience! Everything accessible within walking distance; night market, clothes, dermatologist (in our building), dentist (in our building), hair salon (two in our building), 7-11 (in our building)... did we mention we have cool things in our building?
  4. Fruit! Fruit that doesn't taste like cardboard. Fruit the way it was supposed to taste.
  5. Mango bing, beef noodles, water dumplings, various teas.
  6. Driving a scooter.
  7. An awesome church body; our family away from home.
  8. Being a semi-celebrity figure due to yellow hair (Mike of course).
  9. The ocean and the mountains at our doorstep.
  10. Night markets
