Some of the poitives
we enjoy:
- visiting at least one tropical country a year on our vacations.
So far: Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Phillipines,
Cambodia, Vietnam
- Paying small prices for things that normally suck us dry in
Canada: car insurance - $300CAD/year; scooter insurance - $40CAD/year;
apartment - $600CAD for three bedrooms; 32° average temperature
and wearing shorts for every month except January - priceless.
- Convenience! Everything accessible within walking distance;
night market, clothes, dermatologist (in our building), dentist
(in our building), hair salon (two in our building), 7-11 (in
our building)... did we mention we have cool things in our building?
- Fruit! Fruit that doesn't taste like cardboard. Fruit the
way it was supposed to taste.
- Mango bing, beef noodles, water dumplings, various teas.
- Driving a scooter.
- An awesome church body; our family away from home.
- Being a semi-celebrity figure due to yellow hair (Mike of
course).
- The ocean and the mountains at our doorstep.
- Night markets
However, all good things have their antithesis.
