2006.09.29-Girls Like Guys with Skills

Greetings again,
It’s been a while since our last correspondence. However, there is only a reason for this delay as to give you something of interest to peruse in this mail. Since our last mail, we have completed our summer holidays which was a nice trip around the north of Taiwan. We took our little Jetta north on the national highway to Taipei. It took us four or five hours to make it Taipei including a little car trouble we now know as “hot soaking” (thanks Roger for the tip). We will have more pictures up on a newly designed website soon. We are currently trying to register a site name. Let us know which one you like most:

A). www.taiwanchu.com
B). www.ratsstinkwhentyphoonscome.net
C). www.thiscockroachissohugethatithinkitcouldeatthestraydogsinthepark.org

Kathy is pretty partial towards A but Mike thinks C has a nice ring to it due to the .org spin on it.

Apart from website design, Mike has been studying for his driver’s license. We are driving legally now on our international, however due to residency we are required to have an actual Taiwan driver’s license. We thought all of you might want to test your “skills” on this online version. If you can decipher the chinglish, congrats!

Did you know?
On the actually driving portion of the test, one is not allowed to shoulder check due to its display of your lack of concentration on the road ahead?
If you find a pothole, oil slick or something dangerous on the road, you are to put something large over it like a tree branch, chair, etc to keep others from hitting it.
Driving well is an indication of good morals in your life.

We didn’t realize that good driving and morals had any correlation however, it seems that we were mistaken. Jesus must have been one master driver in the day.

Mom and Dad Chu are coming in less than a week. You will hear about this adventure soon enough. The itinerary includes a few days in the mountains and a day on the golf course with the wild cockatoos. It should be fun. Maybe they will have some insight on why we have been here for as long as we have.
That brings you up to speed. We will keep you posted on the site’s debut.
